Emerson Evergrind E202 Review

The Emerson Evergrind is a bog-standard 1/2 HP garbage disposer. It is powered by a 1/2-Horsepower Heavy Duty Motor (Quiet Dura-Drive Induction Motor) that offers enough power for most household disposal needs.

Construction is largely galvanized steel and the design is fairly compact. Emerson is not a new name in garbage disposals, so there is some trust that comes with the brand. As we’ll see, it is hard to recommend in the face of some very competitive alternatives.

Installation

The Evergrind E202 uses a Quick-Lock mounting, which makes installation as easy enough depending on your sink type and the space you have underneath.

Counting in the E202’s favor is its compact design: at just over 12 inches long it should be an easy fit under most sinks, and that simplifies the installation quite a bit.

A dishwasher drain connection is present if that’s important to you. This product does not ship with a power cord and is meant to be hard-wired.

Using The Emerson Evergrind E202

Performance of the Emerson is on par with other 1/2 HP models. It handles regular food waste without too much problems. Noise levels are acceptable and no better or worse than most comparable Waste King models.

Bottom Line: The E202 is quite favorably rated by consumers, but with only a 1-year warranty and galvanized steel grinding parts, I feel there are better products out there like the Waste King L-2600 mentioned up top, which offers a 5-year warranty and stainless steel grinding parts.

The Evergrind E202 is therefore hard to recommend as the best option it its price range.
