The Waste King 111 is a basic, low powered 1/3 HP garbage disposal unit. It is not meant for heavy duty work and is suitable only to small households (1-2 people) needing to dispose of a limited amount of garbage.
It’s quite affordable though, and seems to be a good choice as a low-duty, good value garbage disposal unit. Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect from this unit.
Installation
If you have read some of our other Waste King reviews, or are familiar with the brand, you know that they use the EZ Mount installation system, which has some advantages and disadvantages. While it probably won’t give you the same stability that a traditional 3-bolt system would (also though it’s more than sturdy enough), it does offer a removable splash guard and easier connection.

The gasket you get with the unit only supports stainless steel sinks, so be sure to have some plumber’s putty handy if you don’t have a stainless sink.
Size wise the L-111 is comparable to the Badger 5 from InSinkErator. That means it is a nice and compact unit that should easily fit any sink system.
Waste King differs in their approach to electrical connections, offering you a cord and plug with the unit which you can just plug into an available receptacle and you’re ready to go. If you have a hard-wire electrical setup under your sink, you’ll need to install a receptacle for the 3-prong plug.
